Pirate's Life for Us Chapter12

I bit a nail and breathed slowly as I read my name on top of the letter. Preparing to read its contents, I held my breath out of pure anxiety.

"I suppose ye be quite suspicious as to why I be writing," The letter read, "Yet I'm afraid-"

Suddenly I heard Jack cough behind me as he sat up, fully awake. My eyes widened and I panicked as I scrambled to place the letter back. Luckily the desks papers were shuffled everywhere to begin with. I dashed over to where Jack coughed even harder. I knelt down and propped up his pillow. He hacked even harder. I swept up the small jar of water, almost dropping it from panic. I held his head and pressed the jar to his lips.

He drank half the jar before I stopped him. I knew he couldn't drink too much at one time, thanks to Jo for teaching me her medical skills. Jack was not too happy about this, but at least he had stopped coughing. I sighed in relief as I watched him sit up and get into a comfortable position. This meant he had energy from his sleep.

"My dear, RUM would have helped me just as much, if not more." He smiled as he playfully poked my nose. I blushed and grinned. That was a "Thank You" in Jack Sparrow Language. My heart skipped a beat when I realized he had called me "Dear" instead of the dreaded "Missy" he preferred to annoy me with.

Jack groaned as he rubbed his eyes with the palms of his hands. It was then I noticed how muscular he looked without his shirt. I slapped my forehead.

Jack yawned and fell back onto the bed, causing his hair decorations to jingle. "Right- O," he said, grimacing at his wound. "Where we be then?" he smiled.

"Your own ship, you dummy." I laughed. Jack grinned as wide as the Pearl itself. It was good to have him back.

At that moment, Gibbs and Jo popped in, with happy looks on their faces…
